I can't believe a year has already gone by to when I photographed their mom and dad for their maternity session last winter! Besides being adorable, these two have grown so much and have developed such cute little personalities.
If photographing one mobile baby wasn't tough enough, try photographing two! Just kidding, these two were actually incredibly good and their session went really fast with the help of having both their mom and dad there to help catch them and put them back in place.
I'm excited to grow more of my studio wardrobe for more baby sessions like this. I'll share a post soon with photos of what I have already!

I photographed this cute family last winter (can ya believe it was winter with these amazing wildflowers?) to document a new stage in their lives individually and as a family. They were about half way through a year of being without their beloved wife and mother.
I'm glad to have captured this new phase of their life. The beautiful wildflower photos represents the new chapter of their life. The photos at the Chula Vista marina has significant meaning to the family as this location was where they use to go for peace of mind and rest as they dealt with the hardships of cancer.
It's truly refreshing to keep moving forward with life through new family photos after a death. It may feel difficult at first but I believe doing this for my pastors family was a great gift in their grieving process. I'm also thankful to have captured a beautiful family photos of all 6 of them early on.
Amanda and Dewitt's maternity photo session was absolutely dreamy! Believe it or not, as I left home to head east towards Ramona to meet with Amanda and Dewitt, it had started to rain! I was really looking forward to this session and shooting at this new location just hoping the weather app wasn't lying to me since it said it wouldn't be raining in Ramona.
Well we get there and it's a bit cloudy which is fine because amazing images can still be created in gloomy weather (I love gloomy weather by the way). After walking around, avoiding thorns and an abundance of cow pies, we landed this gorgeous location. After a few minutes the sun appeared from behind the clouds giving us the most dream like light over the mountains, shining through this solo tree out in this wide open land.
We all left feeling great and a little dirty while brushing off prickly sticks and grass, but felt great and excited for the follow up reveal session to view the final images from this session. But hey, if you're not getting soaked by the ocean during one of our sessions, you're getting covered in grass and a little bit of dirt, but is it really that great of a price to pay for a fun session and amazing images?
Monica and Pablo had a beautiful maternity session along with some added fun that showed their personalities a bit. As you can tell they are big Ninja Turtle fans and made sure not to just bring a little turtle onesie as a prop for their session but they each came wearing cute Ninja Turtle t-shirts! I think their son will look back and think about how silly their parents were when he see's these photos!
Along with the fun of having some photos displaying their Ninja Turtle attire, they made sure to have their fur babies in some of the photos because you can't leave out your first "children". After photographing many pets in photo sessions, I have come to the conclusion, dogs LOVE to be apart of the photo session. It's hard to get them away from their human parents and it's so cute.
Overall we had a great time running around using different locations to create beautiful scenic backdrops for Monica and Pablo's maternity session and it totally paid off! The rose garden surrounding this beautiful mom was killer and one of my favorites!
