Our Heirloom Layflat Albums
Providing pieces of artwork to my clients is something I find the most rewarding in my business. I don’t just send over a gallery or mail over a CD of images, but instead, hand deliver quality pieces of art straight to your home!
The art of displaying and passing down pictures has been done for many generations and I’m sure we are so thankful for that, seeing photos of our parents, grandparents, great grandparents…you get the picture! I’m sure all of us are grateful for the ability to have technology at our fingertips in seconds, giving us the opportunity to snap pictures of everything we want to remember, whenever we want. It’s hard to deny that this is a good thing (most of the time)!
Because everything is now digital, printing, displaying, and passing down photos of our lives has quickly taken a backseat. In just a split second, your phone, carrying all of your pictures from the last few years can be taken from us, never to be seen again, losing every single memory captured. Our computers can crash and our CDs, USBs and external hard drives can malfunction and go corrupt over time. Many people these days are also opting out of having a traditional computer and just going for portable tablets and mini laptops, many of which don’t have a CD drive! Remember good old floppy disks? My mom has a box in the attic filled with floppy disks she hopes to one day get the pictures off of. It’s impossible to find somewhere to use one of those, and I’m sure it won’t get any easier overtime!
Everyone can agree that looking through old photo albums and pictures, especially of their family and themselves can always be such a joy, looking back at old times, life stages, and seeing photos of loved ones who have long passed. This is what I love about offering our quality photo albums. Not only do they have an elegant charm about them, they are extremely durable and long lasting so that they can be passed down to the next generation.
Unlike your parent’s old photo albums, they don’t have to sit on a bookshelf or get lost in a closet somewhere, but instead are great social pieces and works of art to be displayed on a coffee table, or other social place to show new guests who visit your home. Having the pictures printed onto the thick pages also prevents photos from falling out over time and getting lost/damaged. The ultra smooth pages are also easy to wipe clean and are fingerprint proof (this is great if there’s children in your home)!
Overtime, new inventions come out and old ones fade away or are improved. Photo albums we’re a great attribute to our family history and the heirloom albums we offer are just an improvement to what we once we’re use to.
Below are photos of one of the beautiful heirloom albums I recently ordered and I’m so excited to share it with you! If you’ve had a session with me in the past and never had the opportunity to get your hands on one these beauties, I’d love to talk to you about creating one displaying your pictures.

I had such a marvelous time getting together with Lindsay and planning this session. We headed to Torrey Pines State Park and drove to the top to get started. Torrey Pines is large park with tons of trails which meant there was only so much we could see before the sun went down. Oh, and that sun...we had a small battle with the sun as it kept hiding from us from time to time but after a bit of a fight, we made it work for our pictures and ended up with such a dreamy session! It was such a wonderful session which included a dress from the amazing clothing site ModCloth. I highly suggest checking it out, there is an abundance of things to choose from. To really add to the session I got a bouquet from the same florist who made my wedding flowers, Designworks Florals. She created a stunning bouquet.
Way before Rebecca was engaged, she mentioned to me (more than a few times) that she knew she wanted me to photograph her wedding one day. When the day finally came that her (then) boyfriend popped the question, we made it official that I would be her wedding photographer! Rebecca and I’s wedding dates were only 2 months apart and since I had already moved to San Diego, her wedding gave me a reason to head back to the east coast! What better reason?
We could not have had a better day for her wedding. It was a beautiful day. Rebecca and Matt were surrounded with close friends and family members one could only hope for! Everything about their wedding day was special. To start it off, all of their flowers were grown from her grandfather's garden, how lovely is that?! After a long day of wedding prep, the reception was finally happening and I don't think there could have been more fun and laughter. The ended their day with a sparkler exit before heading off to their honeymoon!
I'm thankful I was able to spend the day with you Rebecca and being able to photograph these amazing memories for you!

When I was visiting Maryland for a wedding, I got together with my cousin and her boyfriend for their one year anniversary and was able to take some adorable photos of them! I've always desired to take photos at this little airport in Edgewater, Maryland so with a few emails I made it happen. Unfortunately we didn't have much time with the rain coming in an actually raining on us during the shoot but we were able to get a good variety of pictures :)
The other weekend I went back up to my favorite town, Lancaster. Believe it or not but out of all the places I've been (Italy doesn't count), it is my favorite place to be for many reasons. While I was there I met up with Hannah and Andrew who at this point, had only been engaged for about 3 weeks! I am just so happy for these two and being able take their engagement pictures. Even though we chose the coldest and windiest day ever (No seriously, wind was 50 mph), Andrew and Hannah were so cheerful throughout the whole thing as you can tell in their photos :)
I love these layflat albums. I can't get over the quality and sturdiness of them. These thick paged albums are a different approach to a traditional wedding or portrait album. Below I have samples of a 12x12 album and a 10x10 album. With their ability to lay flat across a table, they can be used as a fun and new wedding (or portrait) album, or be used as a wedding guest book!
So the news is out! Erin Christine Photography is moving to San Diego, California! Sometime in the beginning of May I will be traveling across the country to get ready to begin a new life. This move brings a lot of new changes and adventures for me. The first, and the biggest change is that I will be a wife!! I am so excited to be a wife and be married to my wonderful fiancé` Michael. We are tying the knot at Michael’s church on May 22 with a reception to follow. This will be the first time that most of my family has been out to the West Coast so we are all going to be experiencing something new! After working with so many brides as a photographer, I can say those times have helped me in my own wedding planning but it is definitely a big difference being on the other side! Lots of people have been asking me and making comments like, "Since you're the one getting married, who will shoot your wedding?!" I am happy to say that the amazing Sposto Photography will be gracing us with her skills and photographing Michael and I's wedding day :) We were able to meet with her while i was last in California and had our engagement pictures taken by her. (Photos below)
The next thing I am excited about in making the move to California is restarting my business there. For the last half a year I've held back on marketing my business here on the East Coast since I knew I was about to make the big move to San Diego. Now that it’s getting closer to the date (136 to be exact, not that I'm counting or anything ;), I have been working on things to change my business and reach a new client base in California, so if you know anyone in Southern California, send them my way!
I also want to mention that I am still booking weddings for the 2015 year, so if you're still looking for a photographer for your wedding, do not hesitate to go to the top of the page and click the contact tab :)
