Justin and Zoe’s wedding was a fun celebration that included two days of festivities before the wedding day. Two days before the wedding, both families got together at the bride's home for a henna and roce ceremony. The day before the wedding, like most weddings, was the rehearsal, which included it’s own touch of fun and variety. The women were dressed in traditional sari gowns and the men wore Scottish kilts. Since these events had so much character and meaning, I decided to blog those separately, so look out for those blogs in the future to come!
Zoe has roots and culture from Pakistan so there were little touches of that culture throughout the wedding. You’ll notice the beautifully-done henna on her hands, as well as on her bridesmaids. The wedding included a Catholic mass at their family’s church, following a reception held at The Club at Andrews Air Force Base. Both families have military roots, including Justin who is in the Air Force.
I had so much fun photographing this wedding. Their family and friends we’re so warm and friendly, they made me and my second shooters feel more like family then just another wedding vendor! This wedding was full of cultural and patriotic ties that all came together to form a beautiful day for the bride and groom and their guests. I’m excited to share these beautiful photos of their day!
And thank you to my wonderful second shooters who we're an incredible help to me for this wedding. Julie Papikova and Megan Long.
